if u ever had the delusion that Singapore was strict on its checks and balances... maybe that's because u havent checked out China yet....
Ever heard of the former head of China's Food and Drug Administration? Well, looks like he's going to be going without that head real soon! Sentenced just this Tuesday (CBS News) for taking bribes to approve shoddy medicines, at least one of which has resulted in deaths, China's sending out a message to the world that they are really serious about not tolerating mistakes! Especially mistakes which kill, or ruin lives...
How about Singapore? what sort of checks and balances do we have? Besides writing out large checks, do we do anything else? Yes of course.
