and i just found out - porn (aka "p0rn") is legal in Singapore!!!
how wonderful. Not that some people care anyway.
as per the MDA government website (so u can believe whatever it says, so help me God):
**CAVEAT!!! Oh, but what about mp3s, movies.. and all the other stuff associated with the important wallets of the Hollywood big-wigs then??? well, although it is not clearly written here (somebody should update the website - just like they dont, the MediaCorp Singapore online tv "guide" 1), suffice to say that it is clearly out-of-bounds (Jeff! Lim: i would bring out an OB marker for u to see right now - except that the exact locations of these OB markers are so imprecise, nobody has ever seen one clearly yet. So sketches (of OB markers) are not available as well).
As the Americans on the big Wheel of Fortune (whatever happened to Singapore's "big wheel of fortune"??? the wheel was big, but... oh well) often like to chant, "Big Money!!! Big Money!!!" Yup, where the money is, our money-loving gahment (i mean, take a look at our royal ministerial salaries!!!) will be suuure to follow!!! (so help me God)
But no porn star, or porn operator, is going to sue u for accessing their porn, u see. (no "PIAA" or "PPAA" here)
Regarding the casino issue (some people have asked me about this), this is my take - Whatever it takes, to move the money to the common people.... We cant wait for an election to happen all the time, u know!!! (if u get what i mean2)

Footnotes:
1 check out the pereeeennial synopsis for ChannelNewsAsia's "one-on-one" program (clearly a "one-update, one-cut, one-episode, show-forever" show) -
Other "film once, show forever" shows include 360 - "China is a growing economic giant --- carving its niche in the world marketplace. Is this good or bad for the rest of Asia? Join Melvin Yong as he discusses the issue with Frank Juergen-Richter, a former Director of the World Economic Forum, on 360.", and <"fill_in_the_blanks"> (whatever happens to be the popular laze of the day - "day" being very long).
2 and what i mean is, it only happens once every 4 years... And for some Singaporeans in democratic Singapore... probably never at all (unless they move, to another rented HDB flat in another location, to get rid of the "walkover issues," so that they can vote "with their feet"3)
3 another politically popular phrase, often used as a "blanket rebuttal" in response to the argument that democracy may not be found in Singapore, - often used in, near, or somewhere around, the vicinity of the other popular catch-phrase, "start ur own political party".
as per the MDA government website (so u can believe whatever it says, so help me God):
Is accessing pornography on the Internet illegal?
The MDA does not monitor or track users' access to any sites on the Internet and does not interfere with what individuals access in the privacy of their homes. We are primarily concerned with the purveyors and distributors of pornography. Unless you engage in such activities, the mere act of visiting such sites is not an offence.
